Data Researcher, Cannabis Industry (Virtual Remote)

Hawaii Cannabis Org acquires and maintains up-to-date data on marijuana dispensaries and policymakers. Hawaii Cannabis helps journalists, regulators, researchers, business people, and investors understand and confidently operate in the evolving Hawaii Cannabis marketplace. Cannabis industry stakeholders use the database to easily access and make sense of the industry so they can make informed business, sales, and strategic decisions.

Hawaii Cannabis is seeking a researcher to join our team. This is a part-time, virtual telecommuting volunteer position. Graduate Students or someone looking to build their resume would be ideal. In this role, you will be part of a virtual team to collect, fact-check and analyze license information.

You must have proven skills to be considered for this position:

  • Collect license and corporate data from primary sources
  • Scan news feeds for stories related to licenses
  • Research information from a wide variety of sources, not all of them online
  • Review government regulations
  • Fact-check legal, regulatory and financial information
  • Create charts in Excel based on statistics and data

Requirements:

  • Academic or legal research background preferred
  • Interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Excel, Google Apps (Docs and Sheets), Gmail and Chrome
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Independent worker, who requires minimal supervision
  • Time commitment minimum 10 hours per week.

Market Researcher (Virtual Remote)

We are looking for a market researcher to provide telephone-based research on companies in the medical and recreational Cannabis industry. The successful candidate will be verifying data on dispensaries and supply-chain businesses.

As Market Researcher you will:

  • Carry out telephone research with cultivators, manufacturers, dispensaries, retailers and other market participants to confirm key facts, demographics and key metrics about these businesses.
  • Input all relevant data into a web-based platform which will be edited and validated by our team
  • Provide insight and opinion about the markets where required
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with contacts within research sources

Requirements:

  • Skilled in conducting telephone research

We are looking for your creative work. A new system requires new words, new images and a look and feel that support our love for the plant and the people in our local Cannabis communities.

As a Writer you will;

  • Aggregate and write original content for the website, social channels and email.
  • Proof and give voice to works already published.
  • Work with a photographer to collect the whole story from local patients, medical professionals and business owners.

As a Photographer  you will;

  • Be responsible for expressing the emotions that give our content meaning.
  • Bring beauty and perspective to our audience.
  • Work with a writer to collect the whole story from local patients, medical professionals and business owners.
