Police in a drive seized 70 kg hemp from Shyampur area in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Tuesday.
Nur-e Alam Siddiqi, sub-inspector of Shibganj Police Station, said on secret information, a team of police conducted a raid on the house of local ‘Zinnat’ around 1:30am and seized 70kg hemp from the house.

However, sensing the presence of police, Zinnat managed to flee away, according to a news agency report.
The seized hemp was worth Tk0.70 million.
A case was filed in this connection.
