Tonight- The US Senate is pending a vote on a spending bill that includes an amendment to defund Department of Justice actions on medical marijuana activity in states where it is allowed. Some law enforcement agencies, including California Sheriff’s Association have been lobbying against the amendment. Also, update the Safer Michigan Coalition and the local ballot initiative efforts taking place throughout the state.

 

Calling in tonight to discuss “cop lobbying” and what is currently going on in the US Senate and elsewhere- Diane Wattles Goldstein – a veteran of law enforcement who retired as the first female lieutenant for the Redondo Beach Police Department, (CA). She is a speaker and Executive Board Member for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), serving as Chief of Staff for Dale Sky Jones , and the Coalition for Cannabis Policy Reform. Diane has also appeared on many television and radio broadcasts and is a guest columnist for many publications including ‘Ladybug’ magazine.

 

Also- Founders of the Safer Michigan Coalition Charles Ream recently announced as this year’s recipient of the High Time’s Life Time Achievement Award – and the Godfather Tim Beck will update us on the local ballot progress around the state.
