North Dakota has passed medical marijuana into law. With 70.6% of precincts reporting, the North Dakota Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative passes with a strong margin!
North Dakota’s Medical Marijuana Law legalizes:
- the possession of up to 3 ounces of medical marijuana for patients,
- cultivation of up to 8 plants, if the patient lives more than 40 miles from a compassion center,
- and create a system of compassion centers that would dispense medical cannabis.
Qualified patients are defined by the initiative include those suffering from:
- cancer and it’s treatments
- HIV and AIDS
- Hepatitis C
- ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Agitation of Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
- Glaucoma
- Epilepsy
- and more.
Patients will have to apply for a registry identification cards to receive treatment from the medical marijuana compassionate care program.
