Holyoke, Mass. – It looks like a proposed medical marijuana dispensary won’t be opening in Holyoke, and 22News found out why.
Heriberto Flores sent the city a letter, withdrawing his application to open Debilitating Medical Condition Treatment Centers. It was supposed to be a medical marijuana cultivation center and dispensary at 630 Beaulieu Street.
Holyoke City Council President Kevin Jourdain told 22News he cited financial reasons. However, there might be another plan on the table.
GTI Massachusetts spokesperson Peter Kadens told 22News he’s planning on opening a dispensary in Holyoke, but he wouldn’t tell us where. Kadens did say he has Mayor Alex Morse’s endorsement.
Jourdain said the company hasn’t yet filed a necessary permit, so the city council hasn’t yet been made aware of the potential plans.
