Arlington, MA – It seems as if the saga of a proposed medical marijuana dispensary in Arlington will continue on at least until November, as the Arlington Redevelopment Board’s meeting Monday has been cancelled.

The Town announced that the ARB’s meeting on the Environmental Design Review Special Hearing for the Massachusetts Patient Foundation, who is applying to open a facility in Arlington, has been postponed to Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

In an announcement, the Town indicated that the postponement is due to “concerns raised regarding the procedural and substantive status of the Massachusetts Patient Foundation, Inc.’s special permit application to open a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center at 11 Water Street, Unit 3B in Arlington.”

According to a report by the Arlington Advocate, Town Counsel Doug Heim recommended delaying the hearing until the town receives clarification on rules from state regulators regarding buffer zones around schools and other places where children frequent.
