Despite being synonymous with cannabis culture for decades, Humboldt County is now lending their stamp of approval to regionally-grown marijuana.
The sustainable cannabis grown by True Humboldt will be one of the first to participate in the County’s seed to sale program that tracks the movement of Humboldt-grown medical cannabis throughout the state of California, according to a True Humboldt press release.
Humboldt’s pilot track and trace program began August 1, in an effort to comply with local and state regulations as well as help protect Humboldt’s artisanal brand of cannabis, as required by the county’s Medical Marijuana Land Use Ordinance.
The stamp will be applied after cultivators harvest and package their cannabis, and includes a code and unique number that is coded with information about the product – including size, strain, and grower – so it can be tracked until the product is sold to a patient. Patients can access this information via www.humboldtorigin.com or an iOS app titled Humboldt Proof of Origin.
Patients can expect to see strains such as Sunboldt Grown’s award-winning Loopy Fruit and Humboldt Edge Farms’ Super Sour Diesel with the Humboldt stamp, which can be seen in the images above and below.
Humboldt’s approved artisinal cannabis will be available at Phytologie Wellness located in Oakland.
