With 83.2% of precincts reporting, it’s not looking good for Arizona. The results for the Arizona Marijuana Legalization Initiative, or Proposition 205, show the state rejecting!

For residents 21 years and older, Proposition 205 would have legalized:

The initiative would have also set in place fines for public smoking and also allows municipalities the powers to regulate the industry within their jurisdiction.

Medical marijuana is already available for almost 100,000 cardholders. The initiative would have created a new agency called the Department of Marijuana Licenses and Control to oversee the legal marijuana industry.

Taxes would have been set at 15% and those collected from Proposition 205 would be allocated to school construction, full-day kindergarten programs, public drug education and more. Full text of the Arizona Marijuana Legalization Initiative is found here.
