Little Rock, Ark. – When you head to the polls to vote, you will see two medical marijuana initiatives on the Arkansas ballot.

They are Issues 6 and 7.

Before you decide, we want to make sure you know the differences between the two.

Issue 6 is the Medical Marijuana Amendment.

It would cover 17 qualifying medical conditions. Twenty to 40 stores would sell marijuana and marijuana products and four to eight people would be able to operate marijuana farms.

Issue 7 is the Medical Cannabis Act.

Fifty-six different medical conditions could allow you to use marijuana. The law would establish 40 non-profit dispensaries that would be overseen by the Arkansas Department of Health.

Unlike Issue 6, Issue 7 would also give patients who live more than 20 miles away from a dispensary the right to grow up to 10 marijuana plants at their home.

The sponsors of the ballot initiatives are David Couch, Issue 6 and Melissa Fults, Issue 7.

See the attached video to hear what they have to say about those measures.

A second video is also attached in which opponents of the measures discuss how the laws would not be good for Arkansas.
