I’ve been feeling uninspired by the vapes on the market — a lot of them look pretty but taste either objectively bad or completely artificial (I’m looking at you, blue raspberry flavor). So far, I’ve only found two companies who make vape pens that I actually enjoy, and one of them is W Vapes. All of their oil is CO2 extracted and then re-infused with strain-specific terpenes. They send out their products for lab testing and publish the results on their website, which savvy consumers will appreciate.

Here are my current favorite W Vape strains that I encourage you to try for yourself.

Ice Queen (Hybrid)

The hybrid Ice Queen was just released and I’m pleased to have been one of the first to try it, because it’s officially my new favorite. It has 74% THC, 0.2% CBD, and 0.3% CBN. The terpene profile includes beta carophyllene, terpinolene, and guaiol. Ice Queen doesn’t pull any punches — it only takes a couple pulls on the pen before I feel euphoric and relaxed. It’s been great for helping me feel calm and elevating my mood when I’m stressed. The flavor is yummy and reminds me a bit of Flintstones vitamins. Sweet and floral but a little tangy.

(It’s worth noting that I had a mind-blowing solo orgasm after taking a few hits the other night. Two thumbs up.)

Skywalker (Hybrid)

Skywalker is a great anytime strain. I keep it in my purse and snag a puff or two before heading into a movie or going out for a meal. At 69% THC, 1.5% CBG and 0.45% CBN, this strain makes me feel mellow and chill. Everything feels like it’s going to be okay.

According to the lab results, the terpene profile consists entirely of linalool, which makes sense for the calming effects because linalool, also found in lavender, has been observed to have a mild sedative effect. I don’t get sleepy with this strain though, just relaxed. It’s great for a few puffs after work or just a quick puff on the go in the middle of a hectic day. The flavor has floral notes and a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Banana Cookies (Hybrid)

This is my cuddle strain. For the days when it’s rainy or cold and you just want to curl up under a blanket and watch a comedy, give Banana Cookies a try. The high is spacey but uplifting, and I notice that touch feels extra good after vaping this cartridge. I feel happy but not giddy, more like someone with a self-satisfied grin.

The lab results (which are printed on the packaging for added convenience) show 60% THC, 0.5% CBD, and 0.5% CBN, and the report on W Vape’s website shows a terpene profile of caryophyllene oxide, beta caryophyllene, and pinene, making it great for pain and inflammation. Banana Cookies’ flavor does have some vague fruit overtones, but also a bit of that pine flavor from the pinene.

True OG (Indica)

Do you ever struggle with falling/staying asleep at night? I certainly do. It’s not full-blown insomnia, but sleep was a challenge for me sometimes — until I found True OG. It’s quickly become a fixture on my nightstand and has embedded itself into my nighttime rituals.

The high hits first in the middle of your forehead but quickly spreads like a warm blanket over your head and down your body, relaxing everything and making you feel like you’re sinking into your mattress. Sleep came quickly and for the first time in weeks, I stayed asleep for seven hours straight. Then I woke up, realized I was still sleepy, and went back to bed. This strain is great if you have the luxury of rolling over and going back to bed, but if you have a typical 9-5 job, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the effects before you have to get out of bed and be productive. (Or have a strong cup of coffee for yourself the next morning.)

True OG has 60% THC and 1% CBN, according to the lab results on the package. It tastes a little citrusy on the inhale but definitely has a very grounded, earthy flavor on the exhale.
